Parks and Walking Areas Around Paris
I have already asked you about parks in Paris. This time I’d like to get some advice on parks, walking and cycling areas outside of the capital.
Today was the first time since we moved to France that we decided to drive some distance to visit some other place where you can spend time in nature.
I had to record a podcast in the morning, so our choice was limited — we still had to return home before the curfew. So, we went to Fontainebleau. We mostly walked around the palace. But then we drove through the Fontainebleau forest and understood that we definitely need to return here for a day hike.
That’s one of the things we plan to do, drive to different locations to have walks ranging from 2 hours to full-day walks. As we have a car in France, it will be much easier for us to do that. While we lived in the Netherlands, we mostly had to depend on public transport for that kind of leisure. And as you lose a bit of freedom this way, we ended up exploring places only when we rented a car 😊
So, what are your favorite walking and cycling areas within the 3-hour driving distance from Paris?
I know that as we live in Versailles, we have some nice parks here as well. But we really want to see more! 😊
